Spotlight on the Income Team
Hello, my name is Helen and I am the Income Manager at Peaks & Plains. In this article, I wanted to share the work of the Trust’s Income team and raise awareness of what we really do.
We are an enthusiastic and friendly team which is made up of five Income Officers (two full time and three part time), one Rent Accounting Officer, one Former Tenant Debt Officer and one Apprentice Income Assistant.
No two days are the same for the team and, importantly, we don't just help customers to keep up to date with their rent payments.
We also provide other support, for example:
- signposting customers to sources of help such as food banks and financial support
- working with customers to develop and implement payment plans – understanding budgets and priority debts
- supporting previous tenants to clear their debts when they are no longer tenants of the Trust
- making face to face visits to our customers to see how we can support those facing hardship
- working with other agencies such as Cheshire East Council to access financial support that may be needed
Each Income Officer is responsible for a specific geographical area across Cheshire East, Cheshire West and High Peak. You can find yours in your Neighbourhood Plan:
The team work collaboratively with other teams across the Trust and you will often see us out and about in our neighbourhoods and communities with other teams, talking to customers. We work hard to find out how we can best support you. You can usually find a member of the team at one of the Trust's 'roadshows':
Please don’t be shy if you need any help or advice about paying your rent. We're here to help.
If you want to talk about your rent, you can get in touch in all the usual ways - call us 0800 0121311 or email us at trust@peaksplains.org, and the team will get back in touch with you.
You'll always find a helpful and friendly member of the team ready to help you.
