Peaks & Plains unveils new affordable housing at Warren Close, Knutsford

The Trust has completed the redevelopment of Warren Close in Knutsford, replacing outdated, energy-inefficient bed-sit bungalows which had structural issues with seven new, energy efficient homes.

The site now includes two one-bedroom bungalows for social rent, one two-bedroom bungalow, three two-bedroom houses, and one three-bedroom house for shared ownership.

Built by PLP Construction Ltd, the properties feature energy-efficient technologies including air source heat pumps, unvented cylinders, photovoltaic panels, and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. As a result, the homes achieve impressive Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings, with two properties earning the highest possible EPC banding of A.

The scheme received grant funding from Homes England under the 21-26 Affordable Homes Programme via the JV North Consortium.

“This development marks a significant step toward providing affordable, sustainable and energy efficient housing in Knutsford,” said Mark Howden, Chief Executive at Peaks & Plains Housing Trust.

“It is important to the Trust to make sure everyone has been updated along the way, and we’ve been doing this with monthly updates on our website’
