It's open! Harry Lawson Court's new and improved conservatory

This conservatory was off limits to residents for quite a while, starting with a tricky leak that led us to contract Frank Rogers for a complete refurbishment of this communal area. Now, the conservatory is back up and running, better than ever.

The conservatory at Harry Lawson Court is communal hub for our customers, where they can sit, chat and relax together.

The Trust contracted Frank Rogers to replace the conservatory roof, which had had a tricky leak. As part of Frank Roger's commitment to social value (doing good for the community!), they also installed new vinyl new flooring and redecorated the conservatory to give our customers a clean, modern space to meet up with family and friends.

The Trust also arranged for for the armchairs and carpet to be cleaned - for a brighter, fresher feeling - and we've put a call warden system in place, which is a telephone system where our customers living at Harry Lawson Court can always get urgent support (for emergencies, it's always 999!),  alongside a new fire alarm system.

Residents are over the moon with the improvements.

Grand opening

Staff from the Trust, the team at Frank Rogers, and customers from Harry Lawson Court gathered together to mark the reopening of the conservatory.

Harry Lawson's great grandson, Jack, also works at the Trust in our Customer Experience team. Both Jack and his mother, Harry Lawson's granddaughter, joined us for the event.

It was so nice that someone from the family came to reopen the conservatory.

Who is Harry Lawson?

Harry Lawson flew a Lancaster bomber during the second world war, suffering severe burns. He returned home to Macclesfield, where he was one of the founding members of the Royal British Legion branch in our town, and later became a councilor. Harry Lawson Court is named in his honour.
