Customer Service Apprentice
Become an apprentice with our Customer Services Team, and you’ll gain experience working in a full-time role for an organisation that makes a difference to people's lives.
You’ll join a friendly team that acts as the first point of contact for all customers with a strong focus on providing a fantastic customer service experience. You will learn how to deal with a range of enquiries including rent, repairs, anti-social behaviour (ASB) and lots more.
Most of your apprenticeship is spent learning on the job and gaining hands-on experience. Whilst participating in this apprenticeship and undertaking training as required, you will work under the guidance of the Customer Services Manager.
At the end of this apprenticeship, you’ll be a fully trained Level 2 Customer Advisor with a range of career options in customer services and Housing management ahead of you.
Starting Salary: £14,962.50 in the first year, increasing to £18,703.12 or the Real Living Wage according to age, in the second year of the Apprenticeship.
Training Course: Level 2 certificate in Housing Practice Housing Management | The Learning Foundry
College or Training Organisation: The Learning Foundry
Training Plan: You will primarily work from the Peaks and Plains Office, with online learning provided through the Training Provider.
Hours: Full-time, Mon-Fri 37 hours per week, between the hours of 8.30am-5.00pm
Start Date: Summer 2025 – flexible- as soon as the successful candidate is available
Duration: 18 month contract.
Possible full-time permanent position on successful completion of apprenticeship.

What you’ll do: On a daily basis the Customer Service apprentice will be
- Answering incoming calls and learning to deal with a wide range of customer enquiries
- Responding to emails, web chat and face to face enquiries in a professional manner
- Using a Customer Record Management (CRM) system to record, appoint and monitor information to process all customer requests
- Developing customer service knowledge and skills to ensure all customer enquiries are dealt with effectively, striving to resolve first time and in a timely manner, promoting a centre of excellence in Customer Service
- Learning how to respond to the diverse needs of our customer base
- Building relationships and working closely with internal teams and our external contacts to ensure a quality and seamless customer journey
- Ensuring data is kept up to date, paying attention to detail and ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations
Requirements
GCSE or equivalent in:
- Maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent) (grade C/level 4)
If you do not have the GCSE or equivalent grades you will be required to complete Maths and English as part of your apprenticeship.

This is an entry level position, we are not looking for prior call centre experience.
